Scholarships for High School Students

Scholarships for College Students 

High School: The Colorado Society of CPAs Educational Foundation awards scholarships in the Spring each year to outstanding high school seniors who plan to major in accounting.

Scholarship Amounts: $1000 - awarded annually in the Spring

WHO MAY APPLY

The scholarships are available to all Colorado high school students who will major in accounting at Colorado community colleges or Colorado colleges or universities with accredited accounting programs. These schools must offer accounting classes that are transferable to other Colorado colleges with accredited accounting programs. Applicants must be in the senior year of high school and enrolled in the summer or fall semester/quarter, and high school transcripts must reflect a 3.0 or better grade point average. Students must enroll in courses equal to not less than six (6) semester/quarter hours for the semester/quarter for which they are applying.

HOW TO APPLY

2.  Selection is based primarily on scholastic achievement, therefore, applications will not be considered without all requested information.

3.  A copy of your official high school transcript verifying your grade point average, class ranking, and SAT and ACT test scores MUST accompany the application.

College: Each year the Colorado Society of CPAs Educational Foundation awards scholarships to accounting majors at Colorado colleges and universities with accredited accounting programs. Both undergraduate and graduate students are eligible.

Scholarship Amounts: $2500 - twice yearly

WHO MAY APPLY

1.  Any declared accounting major who has completed at least 8 semester hours of accounting courses, including one upper division accounting course. Must attend a Colorado college or university with an accredited accounting program. Students must enroll in courses equal to not less than six (6) semester/quarter hours for the semester/quarter for which they are applying. Graduate students must be enrolled in an accounting-related graduate program.

2.  Grade point average must be 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale.

3.  May apply each time the scholarship is offered.  No preference is given to students who have already received a scholarship.

4.  Funds are paid directly to the school and may be applied to text books and CPA Review materials, tuition and fees, and dormitory room and/or board.

2.  Submit a transcript (copy OK) from the school in which you are currently enrolled. Applications without transcripts will not be considered.

3.  Return the application and required attachments to the Colorado Society of CPAs no later than June 30 for Fall, and November 30 for Winter quarter or Spring semester. 

4.  Applications will not be considered without all requested information.
