 Controller - Clayton Early Learning (Denver) (1/16/2018) 
 

As the Controller at Clayton Early Learning, lead the fiscal team with responsibility for maximizing the return on financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls and maintenance of reporting systems. The Controller oversees cost and general accounting, accounts receivable/collection and payroll. The Controller is expected to manage the accounting department towards efficient and value-added processes, and interact effectively with all levels of the organization. The Controller will provide leadership, and training to support excellence, develop processes and work collaboratively with the Director Team. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide direct supervision and support for the Fiscal Team. This includes providing guidance on efficient processes and provide support for general accounting procedures.  Promote professional development of staff to continue to improve skill and knowledge in Accounting.
  • Provides financial projections by coordinating budget/forecast preparation for grants and contracts; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial information; advising directors on the collection and analysis of financial results.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state and local legal requirements by researching existing and new regulations.  
  • Works with CFO to plan for audits as required, including annual financial audits and any ad hoc grant/contract audits.  Coordinates required activities with Fiscal Team for preparation of audit. 
  • Hires, trains, develops and appraises staff effectively. Takes corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy.

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting and 5 or more years of experience in managing an accounting function in a not for profit organization, specifically with Federal and Private grants management experience. Special professional and/or job-related requirements:

  • Proficiency in Windows applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), with demonstrated expertise in Excel-based financial modeling.
  • Strong analytical abilities and results orientation
  • Experience with Abila MIP Software
  • Non-Profit Experience is mandatory for this position

Salary Range: $75,000 - $80,000

 Controller (Pueblo) (1/5/2018) 
 

General Purpose: Under general supervision of the Director of Administrative Services is responsible for planning, administering and managing financial and accounting operational strategies. Responsible for accounting, project cost analysis, internal controls, accounts payable and receivable; monitors revenues and expenditures, fixed assets, and debt service; treasury management; budget monitoring, forecasting, and compliance; oversees year-end closing, external audit and annual financial reports; oversees purchasing; communicates with the Elected Board regarding the annual audit and budget. Oversees the development of rates and is responsible for maintaining Pueblo Water’s financial model. Responsible for completion of the annual Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR).
Desired Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or closely related field. A Graduate Degree or Certification as a Certified Public Accountant is preferred but not required. More than five years of progressively responsible experience in governmental and municipal accounting. Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Colorado Class “R” Driver’s License.

 Request for Proposal (Fort Collins) (12/27/2017) 
 
The Association of College and University Policy Administrators (ACUPA), a 501(c)(6) corporation organized in Colorado, has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for “Specialized Internal Control Review Services” seeking a firm to review the Association’s financial records and provide a report and recommendations.

“Specialized internal control review” will examine the vulnerability to internal fraud and external vulnerabilities that may negatively affect the organization, with a particular emphasis on cash receipts and disbursements.
