Colorado Account Numbers Now Available to Individuals in Revenue Online

Individual income taxpayers can now access their Colorado Account Number (CAN) through their Revenue Online account. Up until now, only the Social Security Number had been displayed in an individual’s Revenue Online income tax account. But now, taxpayers can get their CAN from inside their Revenue Online account. This is a convenient alternative when an individual is required to provide a Social Security Number. Many risks can be associated with providing a Social Security number, including possible identity theft. Enabling taxpayers to find their CAN so they can use it when applying for income tax credit certification with other entities, for example, is a beneficial alternative. The CAN is displayed in the “My Accounts” tab under the ID. The number is a blue hyperlink. When you click on the link, you will get to the Periods page. The CAN is also displayed as the “CO Account #” at the top of the Periods page.
