Mary E. Medley, Chief Executive Officer

As part of the COCPA leadership team, Mary helps shape the future of the COCPA. Have a question about State Board rules or what the Colorado Department of Revenue is up to? Mary is your go-to. She’s also your resource on legislative issues as well as state and national initiatives. Need someone to facilitate group process or speak on professional issues? Mary can do that. What she doesn’t do is accounting; the COCPA has highly qualified people for that. She describes herself as very, very, very (did we mention very?) particular about doing whatever she and the team do, really well – especially when it comes to member service and support. An avid fan of the arts, Mary always is up for a gallery tour, concert, musical theater production, or good read. Throw in travel, and she’s ready to go.

Terry Cervi, Executive Assistant

When she’s not keeping CEO Mary Medley together, Terry provides staff support to Peer Review and member programs and groups such as Leadership Council, CPAs Make A Difference, LeadFit, Women to Watch, Firm Administrators, the North Metro Tax Study Group, and the Professional Conduct Board. She is your “App for that” when it comes to all things related to COCPA. If she doesn’t have the answer, she’ll Google it until she finds the right person or resource. She’s well known around the office for her acquisition skills (aka shopping talent). Her biography would be titled, Her Prom Pictures Were Taken in the Family Room: Tales from Growing Up in a Funeral Home.

Alicia Gelinas, Chief Financial Officer

As Chief Financial Officer, Alicia oversees COCPA financial operations, manages relationships with our financial partners, and works tirelessly to determine how we can continue to add value to the member experience.

A Nebraska native, Alicia was first introduced to the great state of Colorado during early childhood, which led her to return to attend college, and, thankfully, she decided to stay a Coloradan. We appreciate having her expertise, work ethic, and positive energy at the office.

When she’s not working, Alicia enjoys spending time with her husband and the newest addition to their family: an adorable shelter rescue puppy named Ally.

Magda Giampietro, Accounting & Reporting Specialist

As COCPA’s Accounting & Reporting Specialist, Magda ensures the daily, weekly, and monthly accounting requirements are covered and the financial operations are sound. Magda is the oldest of five, which means you’ll often find her spending time with her family when she’s not in the office. She considers the trip she took to Costa Rica the best vacation she ever took – but these days, she’s just as happy to enjoy being at home with her family.

Jenni Knudsen, CPA, Accounting and HR Specialist

Jenni joined the COCPA finance team in January 2019 as a temporary member and became a full-time member in June 2019. In her position as Accounting and HR Specialist, she handles payroll, expenses, and benefits administration. She also helps to coordinate the Educational Foundation’s activities. Outside of the office, you can find Jenni in the Y pool working on her fitness goals, trying new recipes at home, spending time with her dogs, and working on projects around the house. The most memorable vacation she ever took was to Germany for a biking trip along the Mosel River. “It was phenomenal!”

Rebecca Campbell, CAE, Chief Learning Officer

Looking for someone equally comfortable with big picture strategy and day-to-day tactics? That’s Certified Association Executive Rebecca Campbell. She provides support to the CPE Board and focuses on CPE program development and marketing. Often tapped by the AICPA and other organizations for her thought leadership, Rebecca plays key roles in the COCPA’s technology-related initiatives, strategic plans, and technology-based CPE. The best vacation she ever took was a road trip to Miami with her daughters. Her five dream Jeopardy categories would be Top Vacation Spots in Europe; Movies You Have to See; Best Ice Cream Flavors; Springtime Flowers; and Nachos, Nachos, and More Nachos.

Tiffany Carson, CPE Operations Manager

Tiffany is a rockstar when it comes to our CPE-related events and information. As CPE Operations Manager, she handles logistics and operations for COCPA conferences, seminars, and on-site programs. Her attention to detail and dedication to our members are always top of mind. On weekends, Tiffany can be found skiing, spending time with her husband, Italian Greyhound, friends, and family. During the season in Tiffany’s household, Sundays are reserved solely for the World Champion Denver Broncos.

Ashlee Isard, CMP, CPE Meetings and Marketing Coordinator

As CPE Meetings and Marketing Coordinator, she helps to keep the Department aligned in its effort to strategically and consistently bring tremendous value to the work our members do each day. At any given moment, she can be found assisting the CPE Director, scheduling facility rentals, coordinating on-site training, overseeing and distributing member course materials, and facilitating general connectedness between our members and the COCPA staff.

Ashlee recently relocated from New Jersey to Colorado, and we couldn’t be happier to have her as part of the COCPA family. When she’s not in the office, she can be found checking out the Colorado restaurant scene with her husband or exploring a new hiking trail with her beloved pup, Penny.

Derrol Moorhead, Member Services Director

World class: that’s the type of experience Derrol works to bring every member of COCPA. As Member Services Director, Derrol collaborates with members and staff to develop and implement programs, activities, and resources that support members and further COCPA’s mission. A second-generation Coloradan, you can usually find Derrol playing golf, spending time with his family, and cooking up new dishes whenever he can. The best vacation he ever took was a four-week jaunt through Italy – complete with plenty of wine and a Mediterranean cruise.

Carley Cave, CAP, Member Services Representative

Carley welcomes members and the public to the COCPA through face-to-face, telephone, and electronic contact. In addition to helping members gain access to various career-advancing resources, she assists with our Resume Service and digital advertising schedule. Most of the time, you’ll find her – and her infectious smile – at the front desk. Outside of the office, Carley’s hobbies include cooking, playing video games, and helping out at the local animal shelter. This Florida transplant is taking root well in Colorado.

Pamela Galey-Coleman, Member Services Representative

Pamela registers and assists members with CPE course registrations along with maintenance of CPE records for classes and registrations. She’s most known around the office for always having the best ideas, even when they are technically not hers! On weekends, you’ll most likely find her hanging out with two amazing people who she has been “blessed enough to birth, raise, teach, and be taught by” (her kids).

Stacy Svendsen, Member Services Representative

Stacy very well may be the happiest person on the planet. As Member Services Representative, she assists with registrations, dues, chapter events, student scholarships, and CPE inquiries. She also administers new member onboarding, the referral service, firm rosters, and Student Interview Day. In her free time, Stacy enjoys spending time with family. And while she loves the Colorado area, she really enjoys the times she’s able to travel home to O’ahu, visit old friends, and boogie board. Who wouldn’t be happy as a result?

Jill Turner, Peer Review Coordinator

Ask her what she loves, besides her family, and Jill is quick to answer enthusiastically, “My job!” As COCPA’s Peer Review Coordinator, she works with CPAs, firms, and reviewers to comply with the Colorado State Board of Accountancy’s mandatory peer review requirements, fulfilled through the AICPA Peer Review Program. A veteran staff member, Jill also provides backup support for her Member Service colleagues and is our office-wide burst of sunshine, even on cloudy days. Her biography would be titled, The Bio-Epic of Jill Turner. Her best vacation ever: that trip to Hawaii where she went snorkeling. “It was amazing!”
