Governmental Certificate Program

Audit Staff Essentials (ASE) was developed to provide support for auditors as they take on new roles and responsibilities. The program is perfect for individuals looking to master their current position, for staff members as they progress through their careers, or as a comprehensive group training program for firms. This comprehensive program covers the hands-on technical skills, conceptual expertise, and soft-skills training you need to smoothly transition and excel in each phase of your career.

This 17-hour curriculum, presented in 1 to 3 hour self-paced modules, will provide the comprehensive training needed to consistently and accurately perform these types of engagements.

What is the benefit of having a digital badge?
A digital badge helps you gain recognition for a significant professional achievement by allowing you to easily share your completion of the program.

What is a Digital Badge?
A digital badge recognizes your completion of a designated certificate program. Insert it on your website, email signature line, and social media to demonstrate your competency to current and potential clients.

The certificate programs are not a professional credential or license. They are a recognition of successful completion of continuing education programs specific to the designated arena.

How long do I have to complete the program?
Members have 2 years to complete the program.

Do I receive CPE credit for completed courses?
Yes. You will receive CPE credit for any programs you attend after attendance has been verified.

Will I be required to take additional classes to keep my certificate?
Certificate holders will not be required to take additional courses unless a significant regulatory change has occurred.

How do I get my Digital Badge?
Once you have completed the selected program, please contact Ashlee Whelan, ashlee@cocpa.org, to confirm your completion. The team will verify your completion and issue you your earned badge. You will then receive instructions to access and download your badge from our badge partner Acclaim.

Do I have to accept and download my Digital Badge?
Yes, you will have to accept your newly earned badge. Once in the portal, you will be able to link your badge to your social media platforms, i.e. LinkedIn. In order to share your badge, it must be made public. You do not have to download you badge however it is suggested in order to share in your email signatures.

Will I receive a paper certificate?
Paper certificates are being phased out.

Does my Certificate expire?
No. If there is a major legislative change, certificate holders will be required to take an update program to maintain their Certificate.
