Preparing for FAMLI
Tracy Marshall

With the passage of Prop 118 in November 2020, Colorado voters approved a statewide paid family and medical leave initiative to ensure workers across the state won’t have to put off growing their families, stress over an unexpected injury or illness, or sacrifice their careers to take care of a family member. Colorado Department of Labor and Employment’s new Family and Medical Leave Insurance (FAMLI) Division will hold a high level overview of the program, its implementation timeline and address what action employers need to take over the next several months before premium collections begin on January 1, 2023 and benefits become accessible to workers in January 2024.

The FAMLI Division is committed to preparing Colorado employers for this new program. In this presentation, attendees can expect to learn the following:

  • How the FAMLI program will make Colorado businesses more competitive in this tight job market.

  • What action is required of employers.

  • Guidance when considering a private plan exemption.

  • When employers can expect to register, report wages, and pay premiums.
