See Me Series: Through DACA Eyes
Alvin Peregrino, is a beneficiary of the DACA program. He came to the US at the age of 6 and has made Colorado his home since. He graduated from Bishop Macehebeuf High School in 2011 and from Regis University in 2015. Alvin will share how DACA has impacted his life and details on what it takes to be part of the DACA program.
DACA i(Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) is a policy that protects around 800,000 young people — known as “DREAMers” — who entered the United States unlawfully as children. The program does not grant them official legal status or a pathway to citizenship, but it does allow them to apply for a driver’s license, social security number, and work permit.
